Smile Co., Ltd. participated in the 2019 National Academic Exchange Conference on Refractory Raw Materials.

From May 8-10, 2019, the "2019 National Academic Exchange Conference on Refractory Raw Materials" was held at the Holiday Inn Tianjin Binhai. This conference was hosted by the Refractory Materials Branch of the Chinese Society for Metals, Sinosteel Luoyang Institute of Refractories, State Key Laboratory of Advanced Refractories, Sinosteel Ked Incubator (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., and Refractories Magazine. Over 400 participants attended, including representatives from universities, research institutes, industry organizations, and media related to the refractory materials and user industries, as well as enterprises producing refractory raw materials, products, and equipment, and trading companies.

The conference featured 22 expert presentations and 20 excellent paper presentations. These reports introduced and discussed the development and achievements of refractory materials in recent years, outlined the status of refractory raw materials, analyzed the latest developments in refractory materials research, production, and application, and pointed out future development trends. Topics also covered the preparation, research, and application of refractory raw materials such as magnesia, corundum, lightweight materials, binders, synthetic materials, and polysilicon cutting waste, as well as research and practice on refractory materials for the steel industry, and energy conservation and environmental protection in tunnel kilns.

The conference provided an exchange platform for refractory materials researchers, manufacturers, suppliers, and users, supported the upgrading of the refractory raw materials industry structure and sustainable development, strengthened collaboration between refractory raw material and product enterprises and high-temperature industrial customers, connected the refractory raw materials—refractory products—high-temperature industrial supply chain, and achieved win-win development.

Smile Co., Ltd., as a member unit of the Refractory Materials Branch of the Chinese Society for Metals, participated in this conference. We published a paper titled "Effect of Magnesia Addition on the Properties of 90 Spinel-Containing Castables," set up a booth to display Smile's series of products, attracted many peers and customers, and engaged in enthusiastic discussions and negotiations.
