Smile Co., Ltd. Attends the 18th National Youth Academic Conference on Refractories



To welcome the 20th CPC National Congress and focus on new developments in refractories, the 18th National Youth Academic Conference on Refractories was grandly held in Changsha, Hunan, from July 11 to 13, 2022. The conference was jointly organized by the Refractories Branch of the Chinese Society for Metals, Sinosteel Luoyang Institute of Refractories Research Co., Ltd., the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Refractories, and Refractories Magazine. As one of the hosting units, Smile Co., Ltd. joined more than 300 representatives from research institutes, universities, manufacturing enterprises, and other organizations across the refractory industry and its upstream and downstream sectors to discuss development and innovation under the new circumstances.
Professor Wang Jingran of the School of Materials and Metallurgy at Wuhan University of Science and Technology was invited to deliver an excellent presentation entitled Performance of Corundum-Spinel Micropowder and Its Application in Castables. His paper was also awarded the Third Prize for Outstanding Conference Presentation.
The 90MA defect spinel micropowder developed by Smile Co., Ltd., as the first product incubated by the joint research institute established with Wuhan University of Science and Technology, fully demonstrates the Company’s development approach of integrating industry, academia, and research. It also attracted considerable attention and discussion from industry peers.
As a hosting unit, Smile Co., Ltd. set up an exhibition booth and vividly showcased the appeal of its three strategic sub-brands, “Zhunai,” “Jingnai,” and “Jienai.” During the conference, industry experts and customers visited the booth and engaged in in-depth and lively technical discussions and product exchanges with the Company’s management and technical staff. They also spoke highly of the Company’s core business philosophy and technological R&D capabilities.
